Mauricio Bauer, Senior Corporate Engagement Specialist at National Wildlife Federation (NWF) will present an overview of the deforestation situation in Brazil and explore potential supply chain solutions at the Leather Compliance and Sustainability conference on 13th November.

The presentation will include an overview of the live deforestation situation, comparing previous years activity to now. Mauricio Bauer will also contextualise the debate by providing information on the livestock farming structure in the region and existing traceability systems.
NWF’s corporate engagement focused on eliminating the loss and degradation of tropical and sub-tropical forest ecosystems in Latin America that result from the production of key agricultural commodities, primarily beef, leather and soy means they are well placed to provide an overview of the live situation and discuss available solutions.
With over 30 years of experience, the International Wildlife Conservation program combines expertise in the fields of natural resource economics, remote sensing and GIS, international law, and tropical ecology to advance market-based solutions and public policy to eliminate the loss of tropical forests around the world.
Delegates will also enjoy breakfast and networking with other industry representatives before the start of the program of expert speakers. The event will include additional presentations that will cover some of the hottest topics in the leather industry, informing delegates on how to manage risks within their supply chain and take advantage of emerging opportunities.
